2023 was an interesting year. I had plans for lots of big rides in Europe but hurt my knee in December 2022, and it never properly healed. I put shorter (165mm) cranks on my bike and trained myself to climb standing, both of which reduce the angle of knee bend, hoping this would reduce the strain on my knee.
And ride-wise, I chose to do shorter climbs, or over and back rides, rather than the big loops I’d hoped to ride. And took many more rest days.
